Kurara Chibana was crowned Miss Universe Japan in 2006 and finished as first runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant subsequently held in Los Angeles.
Currently, Kurara is the cover model for top women's fashion magazine "Domani" and makes regular appearances on several television programs and commercials.
Having travelled extensively in the Third World, Kurara has a firsthand feel for the needs of its people and is actively focused on raising awareness through organizations such as the World Food Programme, of which she is an Official Supporter.
Drawing from her diverse background including time spent as a journalist for a popular news program, abroad as a student of languages, and as a leader in the fashion world, Kurara continues her work and bears the standard for the modern Japanese woman.
